CNC machined from a self-lubricating plastic that is far superior to any of the other materials we tested with, including Delrin and aluminum. When we built the first prototype from aluminum, the friction was unacceptable. A quick look at the properties of Delrin will reveal that the water absorption of Delrin makes it completely unsuitable for any exterior automotive use."
